The latest ADR's identity verification norms in Romania, published in November 2021, regulate remote customer identification using video means. The norms were set forth in light of the provisions of EU Regulation no. 910/2014 on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions and repealing Directive 1999/93/EC (the eIDAS regulation). Customers have no more than 240 days to comply with it starting 24th of November, 2021.
The ADR context paved the way for a re-evaluation of eIDV partnerships with a commitment to compliance towards ADR norms as this set of laws set out the minimum technical and security requirements for the regulation, recognition, approval or acceptance of the remote customer identification using video means by the service providers as a form of "electronic identification" as defined in the eIDAS Regulation.
FintechOS is committed to support its Romanian customers regarding their certification with the local authority to maintain compliance with the new regulations. We have also made additional steps to ensure we provide easier options for partners to support customers to comply with the norms and we have partnered with ARIADNEXT, an identity platform that will be both eIDAS and ADR certified by the end of May thus offering an automated solution for customers to onboard without having the complexity of certifications and audits.
